2020 – What a year it has been!
We began 2020 with some high hopes and major plans in the works. We had just started off our operations late 2019 with much energy and were lucky to serve some of you during our first months of operations. But alas, Covid19 had other plans.
We wanted to write this post to update you all on a few different things and to let you know how we’ve adapted to the ongoing situation.
- We’ve introduced extra flexibility with our bookings through a new Covid19 Policy to ensure you guys can travel with peace of mind knowing that you’ll be taken care of. Further information is available in this post
- Island Wanderers, along with all our partners, will be following strict guidelines issued by the Maldivian Health Protection Agency (HPA). This includes, but is not limited to, wearing face masks when interacting with all our clients, maintaining social distancing etc.
- Maldives has managed to successfully tackle the first wave of Covid19 and has reopened our borders after a few months of border lockdown. Tourists have begun arriving since the borders reopened and most tourist establishments are now open. However, as this is an on-going situation, we are taking all necessary actions to ensure that the safety and enjoyment of all our customers are prioritised. While unlikely, this may mean that we may have to alter itineraries at the last minute based on medical advice or changes to regulations issued by the Government of Maldives. Our customers can rest assured that we will be taking every possible step, as mentioned before, to ensure that your safety and holiday enjoyment is not compromised.
